Cerberus anti-theft – an exploit allowing you to access any device

August 16, 2013

You may or may not have heard of Cerberus, an anti-theft application for Android devices. Cerberus allows you to remotely control your device if it has been lost or stolen. Features include: locate and track your device, start alarms, get a list of recent calls, download SMS messages, take pictures, record video, record audio and much more – all of which is done discreetly without the “thief” knowing so you can track your phone down and attempt to recover it. Pretty cool, right? Now imagine if anyone could access your device. A security hole in Cerberus allows just that.

APIfy – Vehicle Information

November 9, 2012

Unfortunately, due to legal issues, I’ve had to make a few functions related to the vehicle information API obsolete. Here are the changes:

APIfy Endpoint Change

September 11, 2012

I’ve changed the endpoint URI for APIfy to http://apify.ifc0nfig.com/ and updated the documentation. The documentation is 100% dynamically driven, so as soon as a function has changed or a new feature has been added the documentation will automagically update. I’ll keep the old endpoint URI active until the end of the year.

SongPop Cheat

July 26, 2012

I’ve recently got addicted to the new game from FleshPlanet called SongPop. You have to guess the name of the song or artist whilst playing against your friends. Instinctively I sniffed through the HTTP traffic and came up with anapplication that allows you to see the answers before you start a new round.

ASDA (Walmart) API

July 19, 2012

After taking a look at the Tesco API, the only next logical step is uncovering the ASDA API. Unfortunately ASDA arn’t as open as Tesco as they don’t offer any public APIs that “anybody” can use. In this post we’ll take a look under the hood of the ASDA Android app to try and extract a usable API from it.
